Round Two Morgan Park Raceway Bayley Hall Racing Review
Round Two. This round was to test my youth and see what experience and courage I could gain after having first round nerves, conquered. This weekend certainly had its highs and lows but many positive to be remembered and used to continue excelling in this category. Qualifying on Saturday was electric. After having limited laps on Friday practice due to an easy fix engine drama, I had put in by far my quickest time yet. This lap improved my previous fastest lap time from round 1, a 1.38.51, by two and a half seconds down to a 1.36.04 which put me into 11th position. Fortunately, this weekend would consist of four races so I had many more opportunities to prove myself. Race 1 was exhilarating being in the fast mid-pack, however, mid-race another driver so a closing passing opportunity and turned my car putting me last. I lost heaps of time but managed to take back a position. Race 2 was for me to keep my head on straight. I was able to fight back up to 17th position having great battles with fellow racers.
Race 3, on the Sunday, was my best race yet. I raced all the way up to 14th position setting qualifying laps to catch the leaders. Last race of the weekend was not how I wanted to finish this weekend of tough battles and awesome passing manoeuvres. After having a slow start down into one of the tight corners my car had troubles stopping and it collided with another driver. Luckily enough neither of us received any damage and we together had a battle to the end finishing lower in the weekend than I expected after such an amazing qualifying. Next race meeting for the number 3 Hyundai Excel is at Queensland Raceway on the 28th and 29th of July. I can’t wait and we are hoping for some great results. Thank you to all my major sponsors for giving me this opportunity to thrive and helping me to be able to fulfil my dreams. Stay tuned for some more racing from BHR.
